Did I devour Adriana Locke's The Situation in one sitting? Yes. Yes, I did. And it was pure perfection! Narrated by Lance Greenfield and Janine Granda, this audiobook is the quintessential binge-read—full of laughs, swoons, and all the feel-good vibes you'd expect from Locke.
Book Description
Someone should tell Tate Brewer that one-night stands aren’t supposed to come with a sequel.
I’ve learned the hard way—don’t be reckless with anything, least of all my heart. But after one too many vodka sodas, saying yes to a much younger, devastatingly smooth stranger for one wild night seems like the perfect way to forget my brutal divorce. I even gave him a fake name. What could go wrong?
You’d be surprised.
Because instead of being my spicy little secret, Tate is now the chief marketing officer at my new job. He’s determined to prove our night together was only the beginning—and he has the tools to do it.
Chiseled jaw. Washboard abs. Effortless charm. He knows exactly how to get under my skin, melt my defenses, and keep me coming back for more.
I wanted a one-night stand. Instead, I got a full-blown situation. I should run and protect myself. But when he looks at me like I’m his whole world, I’m not sure I remember how.

My Thoughts
Did I devour Adriana Locke's The Situation in one sitting? Yes. Yes, I did. And it was pure perfection! Narrated by Lance Greenfield and Janine Granda, this audiobook is the quintessential binge-read—full of laughs, swoons, and all the feel-good vibes you'd expect from Locke.
I've been patiently waiting for Tate Brewer's story, and boy, did he deliver. As the last single Brewer sibling, he's been my favorite side character in every book, and his turn in the spotlight does not disappoint. Surrounded by his happy, coupled-up family, Tate knows exactly what he wants. So, when he meets Kelly (aka Aurora) on a flight, he feels an instant pull and sets his sights on her. And let me tell you, Tate does not give up. She's older? He finds it hot. She's his best friend's ex-stepmom? Even hotter! Tate is the definition of a man down bad, and I was here for every single moment of his relentless pursuit.
Kelly (Aurora) is incredibly sweet and relatable, making her the perfect counterpart to Tate's golden retriever energy. Their initial one-night stand is sizzling hot, and the chemistry between them is palpable from start to finish. Tate's witty one-liners hit every time, and the way he consistently shows up for her will melt your heart. Their communication and willingness to compromise were standout elements, adding depth to their wild, unexpected connection.
This book is packed with laugh-out-loud moments, especially every time Tate calls her "hot stepmommy"—I cackled! The signature Brewer family banter is in fine form, and all the cameos from our favorite characters were a pure delight. And for those who know, the blueberry pie moment? Iconic! The text threads throughout the book also added a fun, modern touch.
While I'm sad this incredible series has come to an end and wished for a bit more of a grand finale feeling with the entire family, the "found family" warmth and fuzzies from this tribe are simply unmatched. Lance Greenfield and Janine Granda's narration was absolutely brilliant, bringing Tate and Aurora's dynamic to life perfectly. I'm already looking forward to whatever Adriana Locke brings us next!
