Ryder's sister-in-law.Book Description
Pipes
Those blue eyes landed on me
That’s the first time I knew I was toast
Casey
The woman I never dreamed could be mine
We had one wild night
Then it all fell apart
She has a fiery side
One that I love
I can’t get enough of the way she makes me feel
But even when the darkness lurks
We find our way back to one another every time
Like magnets who can’t be apart
Souls who never gave up
Even when my life is in danger
I’ll never stop fighting
For her
For us
I won’t back down
Not this time
Casey
We couldn’t fight it
Even when I knew I could fall
When I put my heart on the line
I took a chance
I gave in to how he makes me feel
To loving him, like I love this club
But in all the chaos
We dropped our guard
We didn’t see the storm brewing
The cold wind sweeping it’s way in
Until it was too late
Now the real fight begins
Because I can’t live my life without him
I can’t
He’s the reason I’ll hang on
Even when all hope is lost
Even if it costs me my last breat

My Thoughts
Mackenzy Fox continues to prove her mastery of the motorcycle club romance genre with "Pipes," the fourteenth emotionally charged installment in the NOLA Rebels MC Series. This latest entry focuses on the incendiary connection between Joel "Pipes," a loyal club member with a shadowed past, and Casey, a fiery paramedic intrinsically linked to the club as V.P. Ryder's sister-in-law.
The novel ignites with an undeniable chemistry between Pipes and Casey, culminating in one passionate night that promises everything. However, their burgeoning connection is swiftly fractured by a painful misunderstanding, expertly sown by a club instigator. What follows is a months-long standoff fueled by Casey’s justifiable hurt and Pipes' desperate misery. Fox uses a charming and unconventional catalyst—a stray cat named Midnight in desperate need of a home—to finally bring the pair back into each other's orbits and clear the air.
Fox excels at crafting a hero who is more than just a tough biker. Underneath the MC exterior, Pipes is a deeply protective and devoted "cinnamon roll" hero, shaped by a traumatic past that includes amnesia and the loss of his brother. Opposite him, Casey is a compelling heroine whose strength and resilience are matched only by her capacity to love. Her initial hesitation to trust Pipes is well-founded, stemming from her own history with a cheating ex and a new, insidious threat from a stalker hiding in plain sight.
Beyond the central romance, the narrative is laced with high-stakes suspense. When danger fully materializes and targets Casey, Pipes and the entire NOLA Rebels club rally to save their own, reinforcing the series' core themes of unwavering loyalty and found family.
"Pipes" delivers a gripping and emotionally resonant story of two magnets who can’t stay apart. Fans of second-chance romance, protective heroes, and the unbreakable bonds of an MC family will find this a deeply satisfying read. It’s a powerful reminder that some souls are destined to fight for each other, no matter the cost.
A crucial note for readers: To fully appreciate the intricate dynamics and preceding events, reading "Ryder" (NOLA Rebels #13) first is highly recommended.
