Book Description
A spicy bad boy/good girl, close proximity, sports romance from New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg
Our first meeting? He stood me up.
Our second chance encounter? I told him exactly what I thought of him.
Our third? It came with a bet (he lost) and an understanding that we’re stuck with one another.
It doesn’t matter that he’s Alexander Hardy—British soccer star extraordinaire, world-famous in every way, and a certified sex symbol. We come from two different worlds and live in two different realities. But all we need is one month.
The bet: Help him rehab his reputation to the media and the masses, and in exchange, he’ll help my soccer academy and the underprivileged kids who idolize him.
That doesn’t mean I have to like him. Not his delicious accent, his sexy smirk or those storm cloud gray eyes. Not his incredibly fit body or his sinfully dirty mouth. Not even the way he shows up day after day for the kids or the way he looks at me like he wants to devour me.
He looks at time spent in my world as a penance, while I look at it as a way to leverage his star power to help my academy survive.
But as the days turn to weeks, it seems we’re not as different as I once thought. The man who cares about no one, has fixed his sights on me. With his time at my academy up and his obligations back home calling, do we have a lucky shot of working out?
About K. Bromberg
New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary romance novels that contain a mixture of sweet, emotional, a whole lot of sexy, and a little bit of real. She likes to write strong heroines and damaged heroes, who we love to hate but can’t help to love.
A mom of three, she plots her novels in between school runs, sports practices, and figuring out how to navigate parenting teenagers (send more wine!). More often than not, she does all of this with her laptop in tow, and her mind daydreaming of the current hero she is writing.
Since publishing her first book on a whim in 2013, Kristy has sold over two million copies of her books across twenty different countries and has landed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists over thirty times. Her Driven trilogy has been adapted for film and is available on the streaming platform Passionflix as well as Amazon.

My Thoughts
K. Bromberg’s Lucky Shot delivers a winning combination for any romance fan who is a total sucker for a broody, British hero with a soft center waiting to be discovered. Brought to life with stellar narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Gary Furlong, this spicy sports romance is an auditory treat from start to finish. The dual perspectives are handled flawlessly, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the characters' heads.
The story kicks off with an antagonistic spark between world-famous soccer star Alexander 'Hardy' Hardy and the fiercely independent Whitney. After a disastrous first non-meeting where he stands her up, a second chance encounter leads to a high-stakes bet. To rehab his tarnished bad-boy reputation, Hardy must spend one month helping at Whitney’s soccer academy for underprivileged kids. He sees it as a penance; she sees it as a necessary evil to leverage his star power for her program’s survival. This close-proximity setup creates the perfect pitch for a slow-burn romance packed with sizzling tension.
Admittedly, it takes a bit for Whitney to peel back Hardy’s layers, but the payoff is incredibly rewarding. I adored Whitney’s sass and unwavering inner strength, especially her fierce devotion to her “kids.” Hardy, at times, needs a swift kick in the pants, but once he finally redeems himself, his transformation is immensely satisfying.
I would be remiss in not mentioning the absolute fireworks that explode with Whitney and Hardy’s chemistry. They’ve both been burned by love in the past, but seeing them fight to overcome their histories is amazing. Lucky Shot is a fantastic blend of heat, heart, and humor, perfectly balancing a fiery romance with genuine emotional depth. It’s a must-listen for lovers of bad boy/good girl tropes and sports romances with a whole lot of feeling.
