This was my first Mafia romance. I was unsure if I would enjoy it, as I grew up watching The Godfather and had high standards. However, Sarah did not disappoint.

My Thoughts

This was my first Mafia Romance and my first book by Sarah and I admit I enjoyed both. Her writing was brilliant and the story kept me interested.

Nico is a mobster trying to claim his birthright as head of the family however because he is the son of his father's mistress the current boss wants his family to continue the line. Nico is determined to stake his claim and take the family back to a time when the Mafia ran the city in the right way and not through drugs. However, he finds that harder to do, especially with the added obstacle of Mia the daughter of the rival family and the murderer of his father. Will his need to protect Mia cause him to lose his fight or will she bring him more than he hoped for with love?

Mia has never been the good mafia daughter. She is too strong-willed and independent and wants nothing to do with the life of a mafia wife. Mia dreams of freedom to run her life and her business but her father is set on marrying her off to seal a deal. So Mia does the only thing she can she defies her father by marrying the man of her choice, not his. Marrying Nico seems like the answer till she realizes that she cares for him more than she thought possible. Will marrying Nico keep Mia trapped in a life she doesn't want or will it give Mia the freedom to be exactly who she is meant to be?

I loved this book so much especially Mia and Nico. Mia is strong and capable. I love that no matter how much her father does to her she comes back stronger. Add in Nico who is hot and man enough to let Mia be herself without strings and of man did I melt. I was all over the whole Nico protecting his woman vibe while allowing her to be exactly who she is which was so hot. The spice level was perfect and the connection between the two lead characters was brilliant.

Simply put this book had everything action, drama, suspense, and spice.
