I picked up Heart of Stone by Dakota Willink as a last-minute deal and to have something to read while on a trip. This book came highly recommended and I was so glad I took the chance.
When we first met Krystina she wasn't doing the job she went to school for, and she had been alone for some time after a bad relationship. So when she meets Alexander she thinks it's just lust that has her so taken with him. Till she she starts spending time with him then she begins to wonder if there could be more and if she can handle what he is offering.
Alexander has rules. He has boundaries that keep his life in order and keep him in control until he meets Krystina. She is everything he usually avoids and yet he is drawn to her. But can he convince her to accept his terms without wanting or needing more?
I loved Krystina and Alexander together. This book gave me 50 shade vibes but with better writing and better characters. I enjoyed seeing how these two characters slowly began to change each other while still desperately hanging onto what they felt were their core values. Plus the sex in this book was hot and spicy.
I liked we got to know the characters and got a story behind both of them and not just steamy sex. My only complaint was being left with a cliffhanger and having to buy the next book to continue the story. AS wonderful as the book is I would have preferred the entire story in one book and not spread out over several books.
