The Spinster and Mr. Glover by Karyn Gerrard

Purchase on amazon

The title of this book drew me in and the author was new to me. It was a very quick read but not entirely bad.

Book Description

His male beauty moved her. His vulnerability touched her. His past horrified her.

Longing for adventure, Anne Sommer, a spinster firmly on the shelf, does the unthinkable. She hires a man from the Blind Cupid brothel for several nights of scandalous pleasure. Anne wants the sensual memories to keep her company in the solitary years ahead. However, she did not expect the young man to move her in ways she never imagined.

Desmond Glover gives sexual gratification—for a price. An orphan whose childhood was mired in scandal and poverty; Desmond has learned to close off his emotions, especially with regard to his occupation. He did not count on a lonely woman to awaken his hidden passion. And touch his heart.

Not only do the years separate them, but so do their social standings. Can Anne and Desmond cross such a chasm and find mutual desire—or love?

About Karyn Gerrard

Karyn Gerrard loves to write sensual historical and contemporary romances. Tortured heroes are an absolute must.

My Thoughts

I found this book to be an easy read. It was short and was 97% sex.

When Anne a sister by society's opinions decides to hire an escort she never thinks she will fall in love.

Desmond is a jade man for hire. He has locked his past and his emotions away until he meets Anne.

Together they spark a fire that consumes them and turns into a passionate love affair.

I thought the book was very short. It jumped very quickly from jaded and lonely people to all-consuming passion and love.

I would have loved more depth and more story. However, for erotica, it wasn't bad. It was a great quick story. I almost felt like it was an outline for a longer book.

With all that said I did enjoy it and I enjoyed the wrong and just wanted more.
