I discovered Susan Mallery last Christmas and became A fan. So getting to read another of her books was pure joy.

Book Description

The Somerville sisters believe in love, but they’ve lost faith it will happen for them. Reggie hasn’t been home since the end of the world’s shortest engagement. When her parents decide to renew their vows, she buffs up her twinkle to help with the Christmas wedding. Unexpectedly, Toby, her first love, is back too, and the spark between them shines as brightly as ever. In the spirit of the season, will they let go of past hurts and greet the New Year together?

Done waiting for the one, Dena is pregnant and on her own—on purpose. But then a gorgeous, sad-eyed songwriter checks into a room at her inn. Micah, unable to write since he lost his wife, finds inspiration in Dena’s determination to be a mom. One snowflake-speckled kiss and he’s a goner. But Dena is afraid to believe that a rock star could fall for a cookie-cutter small-town girl like her.

As the Christmas wedding draws closer, these two sisters just might unwrap the most treasured gift of all—love.

My Thoughts

Once again Susan has captivated me with her holiday romance.

Dena and Reggie are two sisters who grew up in a small town that actually celebrates the first snow. How wonderful is that?

Both sisters have given up on finding love.

Reggie is determined to focus on her self-made business and has yet to find the love she had with her high school sweetheart. After the shortest engagement in history, Reggie left town only to return for her parent's wedding. Thinking she can handle being back in town she is not ready to run into her high school sweetheart. What happens next is a journey of healing, love, and the ability to trust again.

Dena, Reggies sister has decided Mr. right doesn't exist for her so she decides to become a single mother. Now pregnant and running her B & B as well as teaching she feels her life is as it should be. Until songwriter Micah rents a room from her. Micah is in town to try to heal and find his muse again never thinking it could be Dena a pregnant school teacher. Together they discover what the magic of Christmas can really do and together they discover love.

I love the characters Susan created but more importantly, I love the town she took me to. If this town truly existed in relief I would move there today. I love the feel of it and all the little touches Susan brought to life. I fall in love with Susan's writing more and more with each book I read.
