Have you ever watched a movie where about halfway in you are so caught up in it because just when you think you figured out the plot it twists again? Well then hold on to your bonnet because this book will take you there.

Book Description

In this smart and chilling thriller, master of suspense Mary Kubica takes domestic secrets to a whole new level, showing that some people will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried.

People don’t just disappear without a trace...

Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.

Now, eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find...

My Thoughts

I admit when I first picked up this book and started reading I got confused. There are time jumps, narratives from multiple people, and an overload of information. However by midway through I started sorting out the information and was hooked on uncovering the truth.

This book is intense. Just when I thought I figured things out it would take another twist or turn. When I finally got t the end I was an emotional wreck and very stunned. Nothing turned out how I thought it would.

I want to write so much more but in doing so I would spoil the book. What I can say is this book may start out slow and confusing but stick with it because as you move forward you will begin to put pieces together and it's interesting how it all plays out.

I won't say this is a great book but it's definitely a twisted and intense read.
